The basketball games @Kingsley on February 11^th, will be a triple-header beginning at 4:30 with the JV boys playing first, followed by the Varsity girls and wrapping up the night with the Varsity boys.  Between the Varsity girls and boys game there will be a 10-minute ceremony to recognize the late Thomas “Tom” Olds of Kingsley.  Many people from the Kingsley/Buckley community knew Tom from his days farming and making maple syrup among many other things.

Tom earned his legendary status playing high school basketball in Kingsley and helped lead the team to the state championship game in 1970 where he was named an Honorable Mention All-American Player.  After high school, while he received a full-ride basketball scholarship to a division one school, he opted to attend Alpena Community College.  However, after only a year, due to the sudden death of his father, Tom returned home to farm fulltime with his brothers and Grandpa Clarence Clous.

In honor of Tom, the Kingsley community will all be wearing white.
